Virginia Madsen, Academy Award and Golden Globe nominated actress in the 2004 hit film, Sideways is one of my all-time favorite beauties and actresses. Madsen came to fame in the ’80s with 1984 romantic comedy Electric Dreams. Another hit followed in 1986, Fire with Fire where she played a catholic school girl that fell in love with a young man (Craig Sheffer) from a prison camp.

Madsen’s latest flick, Hot Flashes also starring Brooke Shields, Wanda Sykes, Daryl Hannah and Camryn Manheim focuses on middle-aged women all former high school champs who challenge current high school girls’ varsity team to raise money for breast cancer prevention.

I had the pleasure to interview the talented actress at the Hollywood Show and she was so graceful to have a one on one with me.

Popbuff: What do you think of The Hollywood Show?
VM: It’s so much fun. When you do movies as opposed to stage you don’t get to hear the applause or see the audience so this is my chance to meet the fans and I just love it. It’s wonderful.

Popbuff: What is your favorite movie you ever made?
VM: The Astronaut Farmer, that’s truly my favorite movie.

Popbuff: Who is your favorite actor?
VM: Morgan Freeman

Popbuff: What about your favorite movie?
VM: I have different favorites from different eras. But if I have to see a movie, it would be The Wizard of Oz and Sunset Boulevard. They are absolutely perfect films from beginning to end.

Popbuff: Who would you like to work in the future?
VM: I would like to work with Russell Crowe and work with Paul Giamatti again.

Popbuff: What is your dream role?
VM: I would like to be the villain in the James Bond movie who would like to destroy the entire planet earth like Javier Bardem. And I have to say Javier dyed his hair blond like me because he knows that I want to play that part so Thanks Javier, ha ha ha.

Popbuff: Can you tell us about the movie Hot Flashes?
VM: It’s just a really fun excellent movie to watch. I don’t think we come of age in our ’20s, we come of age in our ’50s and it’s a great movie for women. It’s a little bit on the line of A League of their Own. It’s a bunch of broads nearing or in menopause and they have to come back and play basketball against a high school varsity team. So it’s against mean girls which is excellent.

Love her! “Electric Dreams” is one of my favorite movies (and has a great soundtrack).

Did you know that VM was also married to the very hot Antonio Sabato Jr? Lucky lady!

Love her. “ED” is a guilty pleasure of mine and the soundtrack is one of my favorites.

I’ve always liked her and wouldn’t have minded being her when she was married to Antonio Sabato Jr (so very hot).
