The Bangles Sold Out Show at The Coach House

Bangles rocked The Coach HouseThe Bangles are one of my favorite 80’s bands. They really personify “girl power” as an all-female rock band that started in 1982. I’ve been meaning to see the Bangles for the longest time. Finally, I had the chance to witness this talented jangle pop rock group at the Coach House last June 6.

Bangles started with their hit “Hazy Shade of winter”. They performed all their hit songs. “Manic Monday”, “In Your Room”, “Eternal Flame”, “If She Knew What She wants” and their new songs too. I am really impressed with how they look. They are still ageless after 30 years and of course their singing is still phenomenal. The Bangles voices were rock solid and they still got the groove. In particular, I loved Susanna Hoffs vocals on their most famous hit “Eternal Flame.”

The audience vibe was pretty well summed up by Marites, a fan and friend of mine. She said, “I’ve been wanting to see them perform since one of my favorites “Eternal Flame” was released. And now I finally got to see them perform for the first time and it’s amazing.. they look and sound the same as they were in 1987. I loved it.” Another fan named Natalie who is originally from England mentioned, “The Bangles were vibrant and energetic with the closing song for the night ‘Walk Like an Egyptian’. They rocked the house!” I totally agree with Marites and Natalie. One of my favorite parts of their concert was when Vicki, Debbi, and Susanna did an intense guitar jam session.

In their 50s, the Bangles are still grabbing the hearts of the audience. Their vocal harmonies are still amazing. Time has been kind to these women who formed their group in a Brentwood, CA garage.
