Candace Cameron Bure launches Grow, Candace, Grow in Mission Viejo

Have you ever planted a seed and watched and waited, yet it never sprouted? Maybe you didn’t have the right soil? or perhaps you planted in a spot with too little sunlight? Many of us give up and don’t try again. With spring just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to plant those seeds with your children and discover what it takes to be patient.

Actress Candace Cameron Bure, New York Time best selling author, producer, director and star of Netflix’sFuller House” honors spring with her second book of the children series, “Grow, Candace, Grow.” Because little Candace loved spring, she suggested to her teacher to plant a class garden. The teacher and the class enthusiastically agreed with the idea. It was a wonderful team effort. The class brought in shovels, seeds, watering buckets, gardening gloves and a special watering hose. Candace couldn’t wait to see the fruits of their labor. So little Candace watered the garden frequently and the day after that added even more water. To her surprise, the garden barely grew. Candace realized that the best thing about gardening and planting seeds is “patience“.

On March 1st, Candace returned to Mission Viejo to launch her new book, “Grow, Candace, Grow“. It was a special afternoon. The room was filled with a fantastic spring decor, sweet treats and a warm audience. I was able to ask Candace some questions about “Grow, Candace, Grow”.

Popbuff: What was your inspiration for writing the second book of the children’s series?
Candace: My inspiration for the book were the fruits of spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. I wanted to take the themes of the fruits of this spirit, so this book is about patience. And I always think of either what has affected my children’s lives or what has gone on in my life. I just got into the season of gardening for the first time. This time I thought that was a great way to talk about patience and planting a garden.. so those were the inspirations for “Grow, Candace, Grow”.

Popbuff: How do you define patience?
Candace: Having kids makes you have patience. You have no choice. And I definitely have grown in patience over the years. This is something we always have to remind ourselves. No matter what age we are, we should encourage ourselves to take deep breaths when we feel impatient.

Popbuff: When you’re done promoting this book, what’s next in the pipeline?
Candace: I’ve already written the third book which I believe will be out next January. And all the projects I’m shooting … seven Hallmark movies this season and a couple of Christmas movies. I have my home and decor collection with DaySpring and I’m continuing to write my books. There are just lots of producing and directing projects keeping me busy.
