Dolphin Tale 2 Premiere at Regency Village Theater Westwood

I was so stoked to attend the LA Premiere of the movie Dolphin Tale 2 at the Regency Village Theatre in Westwood. The Warner Bros. picture continues the 2011 family hit movie of a brave dolphin named “Winter” who survives the dangers of the ocean with no tail.

She came to be rescued and rehabilitated with the the invention of a prosthetic tail and became a symbol around the world of perseverance over struggle.

This was my first red carpet movie premiere in Los Angeles. When I arrived, it was not a red carpet though. The carpet was ocean blue and it was awesome!

The blue carpet definitely set the mood of an ocean and brought the temperature down visually, but there’s only one word to describe the day -HOT. But I came in prepared… I brought my hat and water :). After melting in the sun for an hour, I was quite happy to start asking a few questions as the cast of Dolphin Tale arrived.

Betsy Landin was the first to arrive. I also got to chat with the legendary icon Kris Kristofferson and good looking superstar Harry Connick Jr. Other stars that I saw at the premier were Ashley Judd, Nathan Gamble, Cozi Zuehlsdorff, Bethany Hamilton, Julia Winter, Austin Stowell, Austin Highsmith, Julia Jordan, Kevin Tyler Moody and director Charles Martin Smith. Morgan Freeman is in the movie but he was not at the premiere.

Popbuff: What was it like shooting the sequel of Dolphin Tale 2?
Betsy: It was amazing. We were all so happy to be back. We all kinda created a little family during the first Dolphin tale so coming back was just a reunion…it was like summer camp again. We loved it. It seriously hands down the best that I’ve worked on.

Popbuff: Do you have any memorable moments?
Betsy: There were so many memorable moments. I remember talking to Kris Kristofferson telling me the story about him and Johnny Cash. I love music. For me that was like a dream… you know working with legends…and here he is, he is so funny..he always had a joke which made our day. It was just amazing. We had so much fun.

Popbuff: What was your most memorable moment filming the sequel?
Kris: To me just being around the dolphins is always kinda righteous especially “Winter”. You know, something about dolphin make me feel good when I touch them

Popbuff: Any words for the fans?
Kris: Well, I hope they enjoy “Winter” as much as I do.

Popbuff: What can fans expect from Dolphin Tale 2?

Harry: I think it’s a better movie than the first one. If they like the first one they’re gonna love this one because it’s more emotional. It’s funnier. It’s sweeter. The stakes are higher and it’s good.
