Jason Priestley: A Memoir – Book Signing Event at Laguna Beach Books

Jason Priestley a memoirJason Priestley, known as Brandon Walsh on the 90’s television series “Beverly Hills 90210” recently made an appearance in Laguna Beach to present his new book, “Jason Priestley: A Memoir

He came in right through the front door of independent Laguna Beach Books which is on Pacific Coast Highway. As the fans waited in line he made a little chat and shook their hands. Clad in a pastel tweed light blue jacket paired with khaki pants, Priestly still looks handsome especially with his slight bearded face. His voice still sounds the same as I remember when I watched him on 90210 some 20 years ago. I asked one of the fans standing in line for his reaction. Jason from Aliso Viejo commented, “I am a very big fan of 90210 and I watched it from the very beginning to the very end. That is why I’m here to see him and ask him some questions.”

After the book signing, I asked another fan named Mhel F. from Chino Hills about the Priestley experience and she said, ” I enjoyed the chance of being able to chat with Jason and hug him. I was impressed by how down-to-earth and sweet he was to people at the event. He even offered and cared enough to carry my boy to have a picture taken with his family. He is one of the most friendly and accommodating celebs I’ve ever met.”

A Gen X’er fan with the name of Kristi from Aliso Viejo said, “He was very nice. I asked him if he lived in LA and he said yes.  I asked 90210…and he said no.  We laughed. He was a very polite and nice person to meet.”

And I totally agree with Mhel and Kristi. Jason Priestley, is as unpretentious as they come. He had a great attitude toward his fans waiting to have his book signed. He also graciously agreed to be interviewed for popbuff.com. So here it is………..

Special thanks to Danielle Bauter and Lisa Childers

POPBUFF: What inspired to you write the book?
PRIESTLEY: That is really a long answer but I’ll try to make it short for you.I had my near fatal race car crash in 2002.  [And] I found myself winning Outstanding Actor in August of 2012. Having accomplished all of the goals that I set up for myself while I was recovering from that crash I figured it’s the good time to write this book and sort of close that chapter in my life.

POPBUFF: What is your favorite section of the book?
PRIESTLEY: : I really enjoyed writing the section of the book where I was a struggling actor in Los Angeles. Some of those times I had were some of the most fun times of my life. Those friendships and those times were some of the best times I had.

POPBUFF: Any upcoming projects?
PRIESTLEY: My first feature is going to release here in America in the next couple of months. It’s called Cas and Dylan starring Richard Dreyfuss. And it will be out theatrically released in the next couple of months so hopefully people will have a look out for that.

POPBUFF: What are your words for the fans?
PRIESTLEY: I just hope everyone enjoys my book and I hope they get a chance to see Cas and Dylan when it comes out.
