Candace Cameron Bure has recently been making a splash on the media circuit promoting her new children’s book “Candace Center Stage“. This is her sixth book and she mentioned at the event that this is a twenty year dream come true for her.
This is not the first time I met Candace. We met during her book launching of “Dancing Through Life” in Los Angeles. Just like the first time I met her, she was personable and exuded energy and beauty.
On October 17, the Fuller House/Full House actress and New York Times bestseller tended to her Orange County fans with a reading and book signing. Tons of locals with their kids patiently waited and lined up to listen to the book reading and photo-op with Candace.
I had the opportunity to speak to three moms from Coto de Caza who also brought their daughters to the event. I asked them to share their thoughts about the author, the book “Candace Center Stage” and the event.
“I thought it was a lot of fun. I brought my four-year-old who has never seen the show “Full House” and she loved hearing the story. But for me who grew up watching “Full House” it is a great event for myself as well …. so happy to be here.” – Laura from Coto de Caza
“I bought the book because it promotes self confidence especially for young girls who have a hard time finding the personal voice and expressing it despite outside interference.” – Jennifer from Coto de Caza
“I think it’s a wonderful thing to be able to enjoy this event with my daughters and to see such an inspiring, strong, empowering woman and someone who was a role model for me and now can be a role model for my two daughters.” – Sarah from Coto de Caza
“Candace Center Stage” tells the story of a little girl who loves to dance. Anywhere she goes, she dances…. But when her mother signs her up for ballet lessons, Candace realizes it is not her cup of tea. She is more interested in shimmies and shakes than plies and pas de bourres. One night at the her recital, she came all dolled up with her tailored tutu and beautiful bun but disaster happened onstage. Candace stepped up and saved the day by being herself.
The event was held in the City Hall Saddleback Room of the city of Mission Viejo, co-sponsored by the Friends of the Mission Viejo Library and A Whale of a Tale Children’s Bookshoppe.
