I discovered the local boutique Olivia’s Closet by chance during a visit to a wellness clinic in Rancho Mission Viejo. A small rack of sale items caught my eye, and I instantly fell in love with the style — pieces that felt timeless, effortlessly chic, and perfect for women who want something neither too young nor too mature. I ended up finding a beautiful top on the clearance rack at a very reasonable price.
On my next visit, I asked if she was the owner and shared how much I loved her boutique. I also asked if I could feature Olivia’s Closet Boutique on my blog — and that conversation became the beginning of this story.
Doni Orsini began her business in 2007 as a home-based venture, growing steadily through trunk shows, charity events, and pop-ups. In 2010, she opened her first small storefront in Rancho Santa Margarita, followed by a move to a larger space in the same center in 2011. While navigating the natural ups and downs of retail, Doni remained focused on her passion for helping women find the perfect outfit or meaningful gift.
In 2019, she expanded with a second location in Rancho Mission Viejo, and by 2023, she made the decision to consolidate her efforts into one boutique. Living and working in a beach town had always been part of her vision, and Dana Point was consistently on her radar.
Doni shares, “I have always wanted to live and work in a beach town, and Dana Point was consistently on my radar. Many friends and customers in the area encouraged me to open a boutique there, so when I was ready to relocate, I began searching for the right spot. The former Killer Dana location on Del Prado always caught my eye — I knew the street needed a local, trendy boutique that offered a personal and inviting one-stop-shop experience.”
On February 6, Olivia’s Closet officially opened in Dana Point, with members of the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce and the Mayor of Dana Point in attendance. The event was well attended, and guests enjoyed charcuterie, light bites, refreshments, and gift bags.
During the opening, John Gabbard, the Mayor, shared, “A wonderful addition to our community. We don’t have enough retail shops, quite candidly, especially for you ladies. We’re super excited for all of you and for Doni as she begins this new chapter in Dana Point. With that, we welcome you and wish you the very best.”
Doni also spoke during the celebration, saying, “This is a milestone for me, and I owe it to so many of you — our customers, clients, friends, and family. Thank you for being here. I’m so happy to be part of Dana Point and its business community. I call this my final resting place — this is where I belong, right here — and I’m truly grateful to be here. Thank you so much for coming. Please, come in.”
She also shared that Olivia’s Closet is named after her daughter, who was present at the opening, and lovingly pointed her out during the celebration.
Doni also shared, “I am thrilled to have settled into our new Del Prado location. The mix of locals, long-time clients, and tourists is a perfect fit. I look forward to offering the same trendy styles while curating a fresh, beach-town appeal in our merchandise.”
I was there to witness how warmly the community supported Olivia’s Closet. The boutique was full, and the register stayed busy throughout the celebration.
With its new home in the heart of Dana Point, Olivia’s Closet begins an exciting new chapter rooted in community, style, and connection. From longtime loyal clients to curious first-time visitors, the boutique continues to be a welcoming space where women can discover thoughtfully curated pieces that feel both timeless and fresh. Doni’s passion, dedication, and personal touch remain at the heart of the boutique — now with a relaxed coastal spirit that perfectly reflects its beach-town setting.
