On February 16, I was fortunate to be attending the preview of Frieze Los Angeles, the world’s leading platform for modern and contemporary art. This is my fourth time to visit since the inauguration in 2019. I love the artsy vibes, the world of creativity, and the venues. And speaking of venue, this year Frieze LA was held at a new location at the Santa Monica Airport. The event made it so convenient for the guests in terms of parking. If you could not find a parking onsite you will have to park in another parking lot. You just had to scan the QR code and gave you easy directions to find the lot and park your car to take the shuttle to Frieze LA.
Located in the southeast corner of the airfield, designed again by Kulapat Yantrasast’s WHY studio. The event consisted of 120 galleries from 22 countries.
As I entered the main door, the tent was almost jampacked with international attendance and celebs. I didn’t see a single celeb cause I was busy browsing through the innovative art pieces and snapping pictures of them. But ARTnews reported that early in the afternoon on VIP day Aussie actress Margot Robbie was checking presentations as well as Yellowstone actor Kevin Costner.
Some of my favorites:
This year’s Frieze LA was the largest number of participants to date. The City of Angels art fair was well attended by an immense crowd of critics, collectors, curators, scholars and the general public.
Love the tree of life.
