January 24 kicked off Indie Beauty Expo in Los Angeles.
Day 1 – Press/Buyer Access and Consumer Shopping Event
Day 2 – “Trade Indie” reserved for industry professionals.
It was my first time to attend IBE in Los Angeles and I must say I really did have a lot of fun. There were many indie beauty brands showcased. I discovered under-the-radar brands in cosmetics and skincare, and some of the most innovative on the beauty planet. The event took place at the Penthouse of California Market Center in Los Angeles. It was attended by beauty bloggers, press, influencers, industry professionals and beauty connoisseurs.
Since I’m really into skin care, one brand caught my attention, The Organic Skin Co. Founder of the company Megan Douglas related to me why she promoted her product at Indie Beauty Expo in LA, “Indie Beauty is the future. And that’s what customers seem to believe. They want to know the authentic stories behind the brands. They want choice of availability of ingredients and that’s completely who we are so we come here because it’s our drive. Drive of the way we’d like to see beauty. It’s an amazingly intimate environment to talk to purchasers, customers and press around.”
Indie Beauty Expo in Los Angeles had over 150 incredible exhibitors across several categories, from all over the world, all in one floor. Founded by a dynamic duo in 2015 in New York – entrepreneur, Nader Naeymi-Rad and celebrity aesthetician, Jillian Wright. IBE was established to help the fast-growing category of indie brands connect to beauty consumers, investors, buyers and press/influencers. Disappointed with options available, Jillian and Nader formed IBE to provide a solution specific to market-ready indie brands. Now IBE has incredibly expanded to four strategic markets in N. America and Europe: New York, Los Angeles, Dallas and London.
I am certain this traveling platform will be a tradition of mine for many years to come. I hope to see you at the next Indie Beauty Expo which will be held in Dallas, May 9-10.
