Every week, I check the Hollywood Show website of who’s been added to the roster of stars. When I saw Joyce DeWitt, Priscilla Barnes and Jenilee Harrison among the list, I immediately texted my fellow Hollywood Show regulars I would be going to THS.
Three’s Company was a fond memory from my adolescence. So when I finally got to meet DeWitt, Barnes and Harrison in person, I could not help but feel nostalgic. I also remember the great talents of John Ritter and Don Knotts from the show. I was about 11 or 12 years young when my cousin who was six years older than me introduced me to this hysterical TV show. And ever since, I’ve been watching reruns and it has never failed to make me laugh.
When it was my turn to have a photo op with DeWitt and Barnes, I observed “what you see is what you get” – their mannerisms on TV are the same in person. I started to talk to Barnes and asked her if she has upcoming projects. She replied, “Jane The Virgin, I played Petra’s (Yael Grobglas) mother.” Then I asked DeWitt what she thinks of the Hollywood Show, she said, ” I think the opportunity to talk to people who are fans of Three ‘s Company…..the opportunity for that to exist is magnificent because the way people feel about those characters, the heart feltness…they give that love to us and we love that.”
Thereafter, I went to see and had a photo-op with the original and my favorite Batman, Adam West. The TV icon was a real good sport with the fans. He starred in the show back in 1966-68 entertaining so many of my generation. Amazingly he still has found a way to reach younger crowd with his character Mayor West on Family Guy.
A 60s and 70s retro experience I will always remember.
Thank you to my friend Antoinette for taking photos of me with Joyce DeWitt and Priscilla Barnes.
