On Feb 14, my family and I visited Louis Vuitton Men’s Temporary Residency in Rodeo Drive. As a tradition, I love visiting these LV’s pop up’s as they have different themes every time. And because it was Louis Vuitton Men’s Spring-Summer 2021 Collection, I brought all my boys ranging from 18 to 12, and my husband. As a fashion and culture aficionado, it is important for me to expose them to these kinds of things. My family was the very first one to enter the pop-up on that day, thanks to the excellent LV client services for setting up this appointment. As we entered, only four members are allowed to enter the pop-up so one of my family members switched with another family member as we were five. Masked should be worn at all times, even when you are taking photos.
Going back to the popup, Louis Vuitton’s raison d’être this year is the Men’s Temporary Residency with its the final stop in a global rollout. The theme is the edgy “cartoon” mascots as they appear in the entrance, a one-level crimson in a 1,600 square-foot bespoke shipping container. The retail space is small compare to the last pop-up exhibit “Louis Vuitton X” in 2019.
Inside the retail are black and white tiles, the center wall is a video screen playing “Menswear Moments” from current collections. The mascots are also embedded on some bags and accessories. Louis Vuitton Artistic Director Virgil Abloh’s Men’s Spring-Summer 2021 Collection is already drawing the Angeleno crowd at the Rodeo Drive installation. The LV pop-up will only run until early March.
Special thanks to Tracy F.
