The much anticipated book of the season is finally out “Monique Lhuillier: Dreaming of Fashion and Glamour“. I’ve been waiting ever since Monique posted on her Instagram account the printing of her book in Italy and finally the public book signing which happened on Wednesday, November 10 at her flagship store in South Coast Plaza. To coincide with her book signing, she’s also celebrating her 25th year as a designer. Fans started lining up at 5 pm eager to chat and meet in person their favorite designer.
Nanette H. from Irvine said, “I thought it was a very sweet response she gave me when I said, ‘I’d definitely want to wear one of your gowns/creations when I get remarried, and she said, “Oh you don’t have to be remarried just to wear my gowns!'”

She is only five but her love for fashion at such a young age is an understatement. To have met the designer who created the décor she has in her room was a dream come true for both of us. I have been skimming through the book and it’s amazing. Love how she shares a little about herself.”
Dressed in a green embroidered maxi dress, Monique looked classy and glamorous. I was beyond excited to meet her even though this is the second time I attended her event. The first was the launching of her line in Pottery Barn also in South Coast Plaza. When she entered the room, she just radiated beauty and her artistic nature. A mother and a daughter were first in line, and Monique immediately talked to the little girl about fashion and designs. My friend and I were second in line. When it was my turn to have her sign my book, I showed her my last coverage of her and she replied “That was three years ago right?” and continued to ask my friend and I, “You ladies are Filipinas?” and yes we are and we couldn’t be more proud of her and what she has accomplished. And by far, she is one of my favorite designers on the planet. Between the conversations I also mentioned that I follow her on Instagram and she replied, ” I was going to post that I was going to be late.”
Monique’s debut book celebrates femininity, romance and unparalleled glamour. The 301-page picture book includes a foreword by Reese Witherspoon and has three sections namely Bridal, Ready-to-Wear and The World of Monique. The book also highlights some of the most memorable moments in her career and the brand’s evolution. She has worked with some of the most accomplished teams in the industry and she wanted to feature all of the magical moments they created together. It was also meaningful for Monique to share her personal story like she was inspired by her mother’s elegance and sense of style (Amparito Lhuillier) and she documented how much the brand has evolved over the years. She stated in her book “My mother’s love of fashion and focus on family, partnered with my father’s vision and entrepreneurial spirit, shaped who I am today.”
Marking the brand’s twenty-fifth anniversary, Monique Lhuillier: Dreaming of Fashion and Glamour captures the true essence of sophisticated glamour while showcasing the brand’s evolution into a global luxury lifestyle brand with its expansion into footwear and accessories, lingerie, fragrance, fine jewelry, and home décor. Printed in Italy and published by Rizzoli International Publications also showcases the celebrities she dressed with the likes of Michelle Obama, Kristen Stewart, Mandy Moore, Chrissy Teigen, Kate Beckinsale, Gwyneth Paltrow, Michelle Pfeiffer, Halle Berry, Janet Jackson to name a few. “I am thrilled to publish our first book with Rizzoli. You may be wondering how long it takes to compile the materials, conceptualize and write this book? The entire process took one and a half years. The team and Monique began gathering the most memorable assets in March 2020. Monique started looking through old photos and Polaroid’s from back in the 90s. It was such a rewarding and nostalgic experience for her. Many people from the team have been with the company since the start of her career. Seeing the evolution and growth over the years was such a thrilling experience for Monique.
