On August 28, the star-studded night commemorated with the traditional red carpet arrivals. Celebrities attending included Christopher Knight (Brady Bunch), Joe Mantegna (Criminal Minds), Dean Butler (Little House on the Prairie, Buffy The Vampire Slayer), Gregory Harrison (Trapper John, M.D.), French (3rd Rock from the Sun) & Vanessa Stewart (Rules of Engagement), David Faustino (Married with Children) and many more. The celebrity night turned out to be a family night among celebrities who brought their kids and spouses. Attendees enjoyed an intimate concert on the Festival green with Grammy-winning jazz musician Poncho Sanchez. The Celebrity Benefit Event at the Festival of Arts and Pageant of the Masters was hosted by actor, comedian, and writer Dave Foley and musician, composer, and producer Tony Guerrero.
Among the guests, Gregory Harrison who just finished filming Hallmark’s Chesapeake series mentioned this is his first event at the Pageant. “I expect to be blown away because everybody that I’ve talked to who has seen it, has been effusive about how fantastic it is. I miss it every year even though I have been generously invited every season … I seemed to be working in August. I finally have a break at the right time so I can come.”
French Stewart who I met in 2019 stated, “This is about our fifth time doing the Pageant of the Master and it is always a joy. I always loved it, I always got excited about it. The first time I’m bringing my daughter to see it, it’s just becoming a family event.”
David Faustino also said it was his first time to see the show. “I really don’t know what to expect. I just know, it’s supposed to be cool and awesome. I’m really excited to share it with my daughter and my family.”
The Festival of Arts was established in 1932 and has always been a local leader that has helped with the growth and development of the arts community in Laguna Beach. My family has been a volunteer since 2017 and it has helped my kids to be more aware of the arts, established discipline among themselves, and created camaraderie with the cast.
