The 20th San Diego International Film Festival kicked off on October 14 with an alfresco reception in the majestic Balboa Park in San Diego. Movie aficionados, filmmakers, producers gathered near the Botanical Building and the Lily Pond and posed on the red carpet. It was a magical night where food was catered by Topside Terrace Kitchen & Bar and Miss Shelly. The opening night film was “C’mon C’mon” starring Joaquin Phoenix and Woody Norman where it took place at The Museum of Photographic Arts.
Micki Olin, a regular patron of the San Diego International Film Festival mentioned, “We love the San Diego International Film Festival. We think it does a lot for San Diego and we think it’s wonderful to profile some of the great topics they always raised in the film festival. A lot of provocative thoughts and we really appreciate the hard work that the team does to bring it to San Diego.
Mateo Vergara, a producer of the film Somos Ecos remarked “Being in the San Diego International Film Festival is a priviledge especially after this whole pandemic. It’s amazing to see filmmakers and everybody out. The line-up of the festival is one of the best. We are excited to be here and we can’t wait to watch all the films.”
The Film Festival will run until October 24. For festival film guide and tickets, head to https://sdfilmfest.com/.
