You’ve seen her on TV where she played the title character in the sitcom “Caroline in the City”. She has appeared in countless ’80s movies such as “Red Dawn“, “Howard the Duck“. “Some Kind of Wonderful” and a lot more. Her movie debut was Jaws 3-D in 1983. But her most iconic role and immensely popular flick is “Back to the Future” which was the highest grossing film of 1985 according to Wikipedia. In 2014, she was one of the competitors of “Dancing with the Stars“. She finished sixth place. And speaking of the dancing, did you know Lea studied ballet at young age and was a professional ballet dancer at the age of 20 with American Ballet Theatre’s Studio Company.
Lea Thompson is one of the iconic teen stars in the 80s I grew up with. I had the movie poster of “Some Kind of Wonderful” hanging up on my bedroom wall and to see her and meet her in person at the flash back pop culture convention was a truly memorable moment.
I chatted with Lea at the Hollywood Show in Burbank and asked her some questions:
Ruchel: How do you find being part of this pop culture show, The Hollywood Show?
Lea: My second time at the Hollywood Show . It’s so fun. It’s so nice to be home. It’s so close to home and meet all the fans.
Ruchel: You do both directing and acting, which one do you prefer?
Lea: I like them both and I’m super grateful to be part of this business.
Ruchel: What movie you have learned a lot in terms of applying to your personal life?
Lea: Maybe Jaws 3D because I had to learn how to swim and water ski.
Ruchel: Tell us your experience with Dancing with the stars?
Lea: It was very harrowing.
