Air Supply Gives Stellar Performance at National Grove Anaheim

Air Supply Live On Stage City National Grove Anaheim

I started listening to Air Supply during my teen years, and they changed my life. It has been 35 years since I last saw their concert. So when I heard they were playing at the City National Grove of Anaheim on September 25th, I immediately purchased the tickets for my husband and I.

The concert started solely with Air Supply’s duo, Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock and there were no opening artists. The show kicked off with a dreamy tune “Sweet Dream”. Followed by their oldies but goodies hits of the ’80s “All Out of Love,” “Now and Forever”, “Even the Nights Are Better,” “Lost in Love” and “The One That You Love”. The ’80s iconic ballad group mesmerized the entire audience with their love songs and the packed crowd sang along from the first note to the last. They also sang their newer dance hit “Desert Sea Sky” and the new release “I Adore You” which is now available on iTunes.

Being there and listening to the hits I grew up with I would have to say that Air Supply blew me away. I thought I was out of touch with them and wondering how they would perform in their 60s – Russell, 65 and Hitchcock, 66. Boy, was I wrong! They were BRILLIANT! I am amazed that they are still full of energy and their voices are still as beautiful as they were in the ‘80s despite their ages!

Towards the mid part of the show, Graham, who is also a poet, read his new poem to the audience while Russell was on the backstage having a quick change. Graham then gave a quick shout out to his friends and family, including his grandson who were in the audience.

But the highlight of the concert was when Graham and Russell walked toward the crowd and sang to the fans. Nobody could stay in their seats anymore. I was so thrilled to see them standing right in front of me inches away and singing my favorite love songs. It was surreal!

The Air Supply concert was a sold out show and it just goes to show why they are still in demand and doing world tours. I will definitely come back to see them and so should you.
